On Sunday, July 8, 2018, Squadron 1007 was honored to participate in the Casket Flag Raising Ceremony held at the Delaware County Veteran’s Memorial.
The purpose of this ceremony is for loved ones of veterans to honor their deceased Veteran’s memory by having his or her casket flag flown over the Delaware County Veterans Memorial the second Sunday of every month from April through November. The flag is raised over the memorial in a solemn ceremony, while the Veteran is recognized and honored.
The Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association’s mission is to pay tribute to the service and sacrifices of the brave men and women of our Armed Forces. The memorial serves as a place to learn about war and conflict in U.S. history; a place to reflect upon bravery and sacrifice; and a place to honor those who serve to defend our rights-yesterday, today and tomorrow.
