With the approach of Civil Air Patrol's 80th anniversary on Dec.1, Maj. Ronald C. Finger of the Minnesota Wing's Crow Wing Composite Squadron worked with Col. Frank Blazich of the Col. Louisa S. Morse Center for Civil Air Patrol History on a special project — to create “Timeline Flight” paintings showcasing some of the wide variety of CAP aircraft flown over the years.
The 21 aircraft selected span the Coastal Patrol days of World War II, the postwar years and finally the aircraft Civiil Air Patrol aircrews fly today. This is the second. Others will be posted every four days.

First developed as the Stinson Model 105 in 1939, the Voyager was a high-wing three-seat braced monoplane. The Model 10A was powered by the Franklin 4AC-199 engine.
From March 1942-August 1943, armed Civil Air Patrol aircraft operated out of 21 coastal patrol bases extending from Maine to the Mexican border and moniitoring the Atlantic and Gulf coasts’ waters.
NC36709 flew anti-submarine sorties out of Coastal Patrol Base No. 3 in Lantana, Florida, and is still flying today under private ownership
